Update Pivot Table

ReportsDNA will automatically set the datasource for one specific pivot table to match your data set. It sets the datasource for the pivot table prior to executing Group By functionality so you can use both (see Report Sequence). Normally, Excel would not allow you to source a pivot table from non-contiguous data. 


Worksheet
Specifies the worksheet location of the pivot table to update in this field. Click the Worksheet button to display a list of available worksheets.

Default value (if left blank): feature inactive
Allowable Values: name of a worksheet in the same workbook as the report

Pivot Table
Specifies the Pivot Table to update after the report is generated. Set the Pivot Table by clicking the Pivot Table button, which will display the pivot tables on the worksheet specified in the Worksheet field (see Figure 22).

Default value (if left blank): feature inactive
Allowable Values: pivot tables defined on the worksheet specified in the Worksheet field. 


EXAMPLE: A report that updates a pivot table with the data set generated by the report.  The pivot chart is linked to the pivot table; therefore, it is also updated every time the report is generated.

1 - PivotTable is the name of the worksheet 
that contains the actual pivot table.  It is
entered in the Worksheet field.

2 - The name of the pivot table is BugsPivot
which is specified in the Pivot Table field.
